Welcome!
Inverness Skating and Ice Dance Club meet on Sundays between 12:00* and 14:00 at the Inverness Ice Centre. Please see the news and calendar pages for details of special events and the club schedule.
The aim of the club is to provide a happy, safe environment and professional tuition to enable skaters of all ages and standards to participate and progress, whether they want to skate for fun or to take it more seriously.
Tuition is offered to all, but we ask skaters who have lessons from other teachers to ask the advice and permission of their own teacher before joining in club lessons. Teachers do have different ways and ideas, and we would not want to cause confusion.
We ask that all skaters be on the ice well before their lesson times to get warmed up and to practice. After most lessons there is also an opportunity to practice what you have learned.
The club is affiliated to NISA, the National Ice Skating Association of the UK.
* Advanced skaters who are members of the club (minimum - passed skateUK level 10) have their own extra session between 11:00 and 12:00. Those working towards skateUK level 10 may access the ice at 11:45 to complete their warmup before their lesson.
The Fun Bit
Although our skaters enjoy developing their skills, its not all work. We also know our club is an ideal place to make new friends and have a lot of fun. We have a party at Christmas, and our session finishes with the club competition when there are trophies to be won by skaters at all levels.
We have also had shows, excursions and the Crosbie Cup to encourage improvisation and interpretation to a variety of music.
