Baha’is and their friends gathered for a BBQ

On Saturday August 9th about 30 of us gathered at the home of Tom and Ann Mackenzie in Inverness for a very enjoyable ”pot-luck” BBQ. Tom and Ann had arranged the garden (and the house) beautifully and everything went very well. The weather was perfect and we all enjoyed the opportunity to chat to friends and eat the excellent variety of food that people had brought.

The local Baha’i community was also hosting visitors from Cornwall, Geoff and Michaela Smith, who brought with them their beautiful musical skills to the BBQ. Michaela and Geoff sang many beautiful songs some of which were Michaela’s own compositions, accompanying themselves on guitars and sometimes Geoff was playing a mandolin. At one point they sang a special set of action songs for the children and invited them and their parents to sit on the grass in front of them and join in. One very special moment was when Michaela sang her own setting of a Baha’i prayer for infants especially for a little two-month old baby girl who lay contented in her mother’s arms in the garden. A really lovely day!
