There were 25 present at the recent barbecue held in Mackenzies' garden. The occasion was the annual walk as close as possible to the longest day of summer, and this year it was the Sunday evening on the 20th June.  The well-supplied barbecue food (3 BBQ appliances + some help from the house oven) was followed by a selection of prayers and readings from various faiths, and some emotional presentations and farewell messages to the Khavari family (soon to depart for England).  After the sweet course the majority set off by car to the Muirtown canal basin and had an enjoyable walk (18 participated) along both sides of the last stretch of canal to the outlet into Beauly/Moray Firth. So a happy evening ended just before midnight, while the weather was kind enough to stay dry and sufficiently warm.
