Prayers & Elevenses Inverness Friday May 28th

Eight of us shared a lovely morning together. This time the prayers and thoughts were on the theme of Love.
“In the world of existence there is indeed no greater power than the power of love.” (*)
This was a sentence, we heard that morning, from the moving talks made by Abdu’l-Baha, eldest son of Baha’u’llah, the Founder of the Baha’i Faith. The theme for the morning concentrated on four kinds of love: i) God being love,
ii) God’s love for man, iii) man’s love for God and iv) man’s love for man.

In the decade immediately prior to the outbreak of World War 1,
Abdu’l-baha made this statement in Paris on man’s love for man:
“Shed the light of boundless love on every human being whom you meet, whether of your country, your race, your political party, or of any other nation, colour, or shade of political opinion. Heaven will support you while you work in this in-gathering of the scattered peoples of the world beneath the shadow of the almighty tent of unity. You will be servants of God, who are dwelling near to Him, His divine helpers in the service, ministering to all humanity, ALL humanity! Every human being! Never forget this!” (*)

Among the very beautiful prayers we shared was this one from Baha’u’llah:
”Glory be to Thee. O God, for Thy manifestation of love to mankind! O Thou who art our Life and Light, guide Thy servants in Thy way and make us rich in Thee and free from all save Thee.” (**)
