Feast of Mashíyyat - Will
27 September 2006
Here is a selected reading for this Feast: O thou who art turning thy face towards God! Close thine eyes to all things else, and open them to the realm of the All-Glorious. Ask whatsoever thou wishest of Him alone; seek whatsoever thou seekest from Him alone. With a look He granteth a hundred thousand hopes, with a glance He healeth a hundred thousand incurable ills, with a nod He layeth balm on every wound, with a glimpse He freeth the hearts from the shackles of grief. He doeth as He doeth, and what recourse have we? He carrieth out His Will, He ordaineth what He pleaseth. Then better for thee to bow down thy head in submission, and put thy trust in the All-Merciful Lord. -- `Abdu'l-Bahá --Selections from the Writings of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, p. 51 --------------------------------------- The Feast of Mashiyyat was held in a Baha'i home in Inverness. After a lovely selection of prayers and readings we had a report from the last LSA meeting by the Secretary. We heared news about ongoing study cirlces, devotional meetings and about the new format for the Junior Youth Classes. Our Junior youth now have classes every week, with each alternate week being a 'craft' class. In addition to these they are attending the 'Flame' Dance classes and meeting up with other Junior Youth from Skye and Uist. They are also putting togther some entertainment for the forthcoming Holy Day on 12th November - The Birth of Baha'u'llah. We also heared about the plans for Make a Difference Day - our Junior youth are volunteering with Red Cross - they will be trained in basic life saving skills and will help Red Cross with their 'The Big Campaign' to try and encourage other youth to learn these vital skills. During the social part of the Feast we enjoyed delicious home baking and shared our latest news with each other.
