Welcome to Hidden Spanish Villages

Having lived and worked in Spain for a number of years, one of my hobbies was to explore the villages that were near to my chosen inland village of Sax, in Alicante province, on the AV31 Madrid road from Alicante to Madrid.  The photo on the Banner at the top of this page is of Sax Castle, taken from the Motorway just before the Bridge.  The foreground reflection is the roof of my car and not a lake, as some people mistake it for.

I am trying to express my feelings, thoughts, and experience of the villages that I visited and a little of the History that I learnt from friends and locals, some of the information is my personnel slanted insight into the people who are very proud of their country and their towns and villages.

Above is a scanned copy of the Partado Popular Manifesto when we got elected into the Town hall of Sax, I am third row down and second from the right, (David Sutton-Rowe) the very first foreigner to be elected to serve the people of Sax.
