We had such a Great Day Dear Mr and Mrs Gilmour (Invergordon Bowling Club) I dare say you may have thought that we had forgotten you.. We had such a great day when Arcadia was in Invergordon in August. It was so nice meeting you and the other members of the Bowls club. Thank you again for your hospitality. After we left you we spent time at the Railway Station and waved to those still playing on your lovely greens. We are so glad that we did not miss the paintings of "The Long Goodbye" (at the Railway Station) All the wall paintings (Mural's) were very interesting and we spent a long time in the Museum. So much to learn there. A splendid Pipe Band played us away - to Lerwick. If ever you are down this way. We would like to meet up again. Yours Sincerely Betsy and Dennis J Posted by Nigel on 12 October 2011 I recently visited Invergordon I recently visited Invergordon on a Saga cruise. We were very impressed with the very warm welcome. A piper welcomed us. Then a group of folk provided us with information about facilties and activities. We visited an art exhibition in the Catholic Church Hall, and were made very welcome. We also visited the museum and craft fair. The town looked very pretty with the flowers, and gable end paintings. We were entertained by musicians,, a singer and dancers, and then a group of pipers played as we sailed out. A great town with a very warm heart. My husband uses a wheelchair and we are unable to do the coach trips so we enjoyed it all. Thanks to All It was very much appreciated Maria Crees Thursday, September 08, 2011 Posted by Nigel on 09 September 2011 A visit to Invergordon Dear Sir/Madam, Last week my family and I visited Invergordon as part of our cruise. Although we only had some hours to spend, your town and the people made a lasting impression. The welcome we received and the friendliness shown was fantastic. We went to the church and chatted to the ladies there with their cups of tea and shortcake biscuits - it made our day! After travelling around northern Europe, the best and the only welcome our ship received was from the people of Invergordon in the form of a lone piper when we arrived and the pipe band when we left, along with a group of people who waved us off. Well done Invergordon - we'll be back one day! Best regards, Peter Graham (and family) Posted by Nigel on 23 August 2011 Tour of the Highlands We were with Nigel for an all day tour of the beautiful Highlands....Dunrobin Castle with the wonderful Falconry Show, Dornoch, Falls of Shin, beautiful flowers in town of Alness, Struie Point with the fantastic view and wonderful countryside.
