Welcome to the Inverness Migrant Worker Information website

This site has been set up by Inverness Chamber of Commerce to help employers and their foreign workers.

Many businesses already successfully employ foreign workers, and others may want to do the same.  We hope to be able to help that process by giving information which will be of assistance to both the employer and the employee

Foreign workers now make up a significant, and important, part of the workforce in the Inverness area, and are helping the area's economy to grow.  Whether they are from the EU nations, or from further afield under the Scottish Executive's Fresh Talent Initiative, they are welcome.

Many arrive here knowing little about the area, our customs, our employment system, or even our language.  This presents special challenges for them, and for those who may want to employ them.

However, there is a significant support network already in place.  This site will help you find the support that is available; it will give  background information, and will hopefully answer many of the more common questions.  Where we cannnot help, we will try to let you know who can!
