Fraya Thompsen Concert and Workshop

On Saturday the 3rd of June Fraya Thomsen, who grew up and learned to play clarsach in Highland, came to give a workshop and concert at the lovely RNI chapel in Inverness. The day was a success and happened to be followed by a concert in the evening at Eden court with the fantastic Rachel Newton trio, a very harpy day!

Fraya is a composer originally from the Highlands of Scotland who grew up in the world of Scottish music. Over the last four and a half years she has enjoyed applying this musical background to composing for film, studying an MA in at the National Film and TV School and winning Best Composer at the Underwire Film Festival. She has recently launched a crowd funding campaign to raise revenue to record an album of a 50 minute piece which celebrates themes of connectivity and communication. This piece is called "Community and Stardust" and was performed earlier this year to great acclaim at Celtic Connections. A great project to support!
