Success for local dinghy sailors
The junior section of Gairloch Boat Club continues to grow, with a number of sailors now keen to take part in dinghy racing. For the first time since 2015, a Gairloch team took part in the Gunn Trophy organised by Lochcarron Sailing Club. This event is open to all junior sailors in the Highlands who are of school age, and involves teams of three sailing Toppers. Our most experienced junior, Morven, was joined by Alastair and Iain who were keen to experiencetheir first event away from home. Fortunately, the weather was ideal, and a total of five short races were held.
The youngsters certainly enjoyed the day and were delighted to find that, once the points were added up, they had secured 3rd place out of five teams. Well done. Well done, too, to Plockton A team who won the Trophy.
