About G4WTV

Currently active on HF - 6m - 4m - 2m & 70cm

Radio in use is ICOM IC-7300, ICOM IC-7100 and ICOM IC-705. I also have some ex-military radio equipment, which are Clansman 320 & 351, plus a multitude of handheld VHF & UHF radio.

I've been active since the 1960's first as a SWL when I built my first radio so that I could listen to the pirate POP music radio stations out in the North Sea. I then had an Eddystone short wave radio.

In the late 1970's I passed the RAE and became an amateur radio operator on VHF and UHF with a Class B licence.

I then went on to obtain my Class A Licence and had a particular interest in Amateur Television, first on the 70cm band and later on the 23cm, 13cm and 3cm bands.

These days I'm most active on 4m and 2m plus DMR and DSTAR via the local repeaters and simplex. I've also built an Earth Station for SSB operation via QO-100 satellite.

I'm also the repeater keeper for a 2 meter repeater GB3RW, 10 meter repeater GB3CQ  and the Multimode digital 70cm repeater GB7CQ.
