Forgandenny, a Place in History is a full acount of the Parish of Forgandenny through the ages. Each chapter introduces the people and places of the parish of the time. The book ends with 1930 when the parish moved from self sufficiency to county control.

No parish can exist in isolation so the book also covers the parishes of Aberdalgie, West Dron, Pathstuie, Pitkeathly and refers to Bridge of Earn and Forteviot. In effect, it is the history of the parishes of South Earnside which for many years formed the troubled border between the people and traditions  of the Highlands and those people of Fife and South Perthshire who moved more towards the South.
