Welcome to Fetlar Lodge and the Peerie House

There are two lovely seaside houses available to rent on the island of Fetlar in the Shetland Isles. They are located in the middle of the island within the privacy of the walled garden of Leagarth House while enjoying their own space and surroundings. A stone's throw from the sea both houses benefit from superb uninterrupted views across the bay.

The Lodge is the larger of the two houses. In 2019 it won an award for the most tranquil accomodation in the Shetland Islands from Lux Life magazine.  It has accommodation for up to six people in three double bedrooms.

It was originally built as the gardeners cottage to Leagarth house by Sir Watson Cheyne ( a pioneering surgeon who grew up in Fetlar)  in approximately 1900. It has recently undergone extensive renovation making a modern comfortable house whilst retaining all the original features.

Next door to the Lodge is the old boiler house now known as The Peerie House (peerie meaning small in Shetland dialect). It is small but perfect for a couple or a pair of friends. It has also recently undergone extensive renovation and is now a very comfortable, light and airy house.

Both houses are well equipped and have free wi-fi.

Fetlar is one of the Northern Isles within the Shetland Archipelago. It is known as the garden of Shetland which is evident in the lush green flora. It has a magnificent coastline which is the playground for otters, seals and occasionally whales together with a large variety of sea birds, whilst the many beautiful sandy beaches are quiet and unspoilt.
