Posted by Dave on 14 September 2006 Friends & Weddings We're interested in joining the friends, also maybe for our wedding next year if it can be used for a civil ceremony Mike & Lucy Posted by Mike Carter on 21 August 2006 Hi Sorry it's taken a while to get back to you Mike. Things have been very busy over the last few weeks. Anyhow, I've managed to get an answer to your question about possibly getting married in the Church. You actually need to contact the company secretary, Victoria Collison-Owen at: The Scottish Redundant Churches Trust 4 Queen's Gardens St Andrews Fife KY16 9TA However, my understanding is that the unfortunately the church cannot be used for civil ceremonies. Something to do with legislation of some kind (I don't personally have any further details) However, this may not be of any interest to you at all but, a group of us are talking about promoting the town more actively as a great wedding destination. We have so many places in and around the town which would be fantastic and beautiful if used for such occassions. For example, some friends of mine got married a few years ago underneath a waterfall that just a few miles out of town. It's a lovely location and I have to say was one of the best weddings I've ever been to. There's a link to an old picture of the glen below: www.theoldhometown.com/fortrose-and-rosemarkie/picture/number115.asp?st=fairy%20glen To find out more about Cromarty though, please take a look at our image library at: www.black-isle.info/cromarty/imagelibrary This will give you all sorts of pictures of our wonderful town. Also, it might be worth watching the 'Restoration' programme on BBC2 this Friday at 9.00pm as this will certainly feature a little more of the town.
