Parking and Ferry:
There are no cars on the island. Cars are left at the car parking area at Ellenabeich, the pretty conservation village on Seil. Visitors and residents of Easdale take the passenger ferry (just a few minutes sail) to be transported to a most peaceful and beautiful place.

A little history...

Easdale Island (also known in its Gaelic form - Eilean Eisdeal) is a small historic island, off the West Coast of Scotland, in the UK, lying in the Firth of Lorn.

It lies to the south of Seil Island, 16 miles south of Oban, Argyll & Bute. Easdale is reached by taking the A816 from Oban, then the B844 over the Clachan Bridge (also known as the Bridge over the Atlantic), through Balvicar, and onto Ellenabeich (also spelt incorrectly Ellenbeich on some maps).

Then take a 3 minute ferry ride to the harbour of the island. Easdale Island commands spectacular views over the Firth of Lorn, looking out to Mull, Luing and Insh islands to name but a few.

On the Easdale Island Web site you will find details of how to get here, and pictures of the area, so you can come and enjoy a relaxing holiday or vacation.

Take time to study its history and look over the slate quarries that once were a thriving slate industry. There is one quarry right behind the Easdale Island Folk Museum.
