CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP RULES
1. The round draws will be displayed on the notice board & web site by the first club night following the closing date.
2. The closing date for entries shall be the decided by the tournament organizer. No entries will be taken after the second round draw has been made.
3. The Championship will be a 6 round swiss event using the CHESS SCOTLAND grading based Swiss pairings, or a CS/Committee approved computer-pairing software.
4. The tournament dead-line dates will be decided by the tournament organizer.
5. The scoring shall be; Win=1 point: Draw=½ point; Loss=0 points. All games will be sent for normal grading.
6. Any player may request a ½ point bye in the first 4 rounds.
7. The time-control will be 36 moves in 75 minutes+15 quick-Play finish.
8. After the draw has been made each player shall arrange to play his or her designated opponent within the allotted time scale.
9. BOTH PLAYERS must make a serious attempt to contact their opponent, including by Email or telephone at least 7 days prior to the dead-line. Failure to contact the organiser or Club Secretary to intimate any problems, at least 5 days before the dead-line shall seriously risk incurring a double default.
10. Any player not having played by the dead-line shall be defaulted (see rule 9). If a player then defaults for a second time they shall be withdrawn and a report will be sent to the committee for further action. It is not acceptable for a player to turn up on the dead-line night and claim a win by default.
11. TIE-BREAKS-No tie-breaks are in use.
12. The competition organizer and/or committee may make amendments deemed appropriate to ensure the smooth running of the tournament
