16 August 2017AUGUST ART EXHIBITION by Jean Kirkpatrick, Garry Marshall, Jane Kirkpatrick, & Alison Marshall
Art works by Jean & Jane Kirkpatrick & Garry & Alison Marshall are on display in our upstairs gallery (disabled access available).
Jean Kirkpatrick's paintings are "essentialy abstract in origin, in response to colours, materials and textures. They often evoke a kind of reality, a dreamlike landscape or an almost believable interior." The exhibition displays her small paintings.
Jane Kirkpatrick is a "freelance surface pattern designer based in Glasgow. She uses a variety of traditional mark making and digital techniques in her work. Her simplification and abstraction of imagery into a more graphical form using colour, texture and line results in surface pattern designs that are suitable for use across all sectors including fashion, interiors and stationery." The exhibition displays her small prints as well as various articles in display cabinets.
Gary Marshall studied drawing and painting at Edinburgh College of Art and works as an Animation Director. The exhibition displays his large prints.
Alison Marshall "studied sculpture at Edinburgh College of Art. Her work uses a process led, meditative approch to technique that accesses the dream-like world of the imagination." The exhibition displays some of her small paintings and other examples of her work.
