A painter and musician, I began writing a journal while travelling on the magical Greek island of Crete, together with my late husband and soul-mate, Rin. And Basil the Cretan dog.

I was lucky enough to be part of various exciting arts and music events there, performing at the first Earth Dance at Kato Zakros and the newly re-imagined Matala Festival, among others. Colour, light and mountains of gargantuan proportions, there was much to inspire…

My journal of that time, Makria, Makria (Far, Far) is yet to be finished - perhaps never will be - as my life was to change irrevocably after our return to the 'Old Country.'

My obsession with writing stories began with an incident on a 19A bus. Leading to more, short and longer; also songs - and a whole lot of poetry.

I now live, paint and write out in the Styx, in sight of the lovely Lomond Hills; with partner Andy and Basil the dog.

For myself, both writing and visual art is inspired by themes of transformation and renewal: the lost and found, memory, myth and the powerful forces of nature. Most often, the ancient, enduring forms of the Scottish mountains and ever-changing waters, where I love to walk. A favourite is the Ettrick River and the very special Ettrick Valley.
