This website is about a place in time which no longer exists or if it does exist, it does not exist as I and others knew it.
I am Linda Brackenbury,
I am a housewife and my hobbies are varied, I enjoy researching history, be it people or places or on occasion both and I enjoy the internet.
Essentially,
It is about history and how it often repeats itself,
It's about social networking between likeminded people and it is about learning and remembering that no one, knows everything, there is always room for more knowledge.
Coll is a remote, unique and beautiful island, and mostly my memories of Coll are happy ones.
Caolas, was after all, my home.
This "study" took place over a number of years, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who helped me in my research,
These people are; Keith Dash, Catriona McLeod, Ian & Elizabeth Campbell and Mr. Ewen McGhee,
Requests for further information are welcome,
Reciprocal links are welcome,
Feedback is always appreciated.
I hope you enjoy your visit.

Above, the image of Coll of old,
It easy to see, that every square inch had a name, equally it is easy to see that, if every square inch had a name, it must at least at one time or another had an occupant,
Caolas / Caolis / and / or / Caoles
was an estate on it's own, it was not a part of Crossapol.
Crossapol had belonged to the MacLean's of Coll, and was in the old days a school, in more recent times it became a family home and subseqently, a holiday home.
