Blaenhonddan Community Council
The Blaenhonddan Community is within the County of Neath Port Talbot. It is situated on the West side of the River Neath and covers six villages - Aberdulais, Cilfrew, Cadoxton, Caewern, Waunceirch and Bryncoch. Clicking on the map (left) shows the area in Wales that the Council covers.
The Council is responsible for six Community Centres, which are available for hire, six Playgrounds and over 45 Countryside Footpaths.
The eighteen Community Councillors were elected on 2nd May 2008 for a period of four years. They represent around 11,000 residents and handle a budget of approximately £170,000. Unlike County Borough Councillors, they receive no pay or expenses - in other words, they give their services free to the residents they represent.
The Council has a full time Clerk & Responsible Financial Officer, who deals with all administration matters and to whom all correspondence should be addressed:-
