Black Isle Need to Play Association is a charity which provides financial assistance for children and young people (aged between 0 and 19 years), with extra needs. The charity is here for the advancement of education and for the relief of poverty for those children who live on the Black Isle in Ross and Cromarty.

To date, financial assistance has been offered in the following areas:

  • Provision of specialist equipment for children with additional needs, for example, specialist seating, pushchairs and sensory blankets

  • Provision of toys, bikes, swings, bread maker, baking sets, interactive or  practical equipment, books for home and school use, etc

  • Provision of a safe indoor or outdoor play area at home, i.e. garden clearance and safe play surface

  • Provision of a childminder to allow an outing for the child or respite for the parent/guardian

  • Provision of transport by a registered person to allow a child to attend playgroup, nursery, Puffin Pool, etc

  • Provision of day or annual family Landmark passes, school trips or outings, cinema tickets, etc

If you have a child with special needs and believe our support could benefit you, you can confidentially apply for grants through a trusted professional such as a Health Visitor, GP, Speech & Language Therapist, Teacher, or equivalent. Members of Black Isle Need to Play are not informed of specific situations, ensuring all requests remain completely anonymous.

Unfortunately, we cannot provide help where there is already a statutory obligation.
