Berwick Trades Union Council starts 2015 with a full programme of events for the coming year. At a packed first meeting of the year, which included 3 new activists, the meeting agreed on a series of events starting with Workers’ Memorial Day. This day commemorates workers who have lost their lives at work but also pledges to fight for the living with union action to improve the working environment. This year the focus is on removing work place exposure to hazardous materials. This is a silent and long term killer. Workers, long into retirement, are dying of industrial workplace diseases and these deaths could be prevented with legislation and enforcement.  Please goto our EVENTS page and keep up to date with our programme of activities.
