This is a paradise for children with plenty of space to run about and the owners ponies and sheep nearby. The picturesque fishing village of Tarbert is nine miles away and has a good range of shops and restaurants, including a 9 hole golf course. Crear, the international arts and music space, is close by; you can even get married there... A day trip with Calededonian MacBrayne to one of the Innner Hebridean Isles is great fun. The Isle of Gigha, famous for its gardens (and peacocks) has a ferry that runs hourly, whilst the larger ferry, which sails in view of the cottage, takes you to Islay, famous for its whisky distilleries. The Isle of Arran is easily accessible by day; known as 'Scotland in Miniature', it has plenty to see and do for all ages. Mid Argyll is full of history ; the Heritage Centre at Kilmartin will tell you all you need to know. Horse riding, off road forestry cycle tracks and fishing are available locally. The award winning Kilberry Inn, renowned for fine food (Michelin Bib Gourmand), wine and hospitality is only 5 miles away.
