Welcome to Balchrich

which has been the home of Andy & Betty Wright since 1975.

We bought an old croft house with half an acre of ground.  We were looking for somewhere to live and start a garden.

We arrived here from London with a Morris Minor softop (piglet) with a red & purple trailer made from an old wardrobe & a Ford Transit van which contained all our wordly goods.

Over the next several years, we dug the land, grew wonderful veg, planted trees, kept goats, chickens & geese; bought bees, rebuilt our house, welcomed 4 wonderful children into the world, then did more building.

This is a bit of our story.
