Buzzing with knowledge
11 August 2013

Several young volunteers got to grips with our bees recently.  They were assisted by Charlie and Paul and they examined all the hives and nuclei on the Woodstone Wildlife Area site. It was decided that one colony who were in a nucleus needed to be moved into a bigger hive because the new queen had started to lay and she and her workers are very busy with lots of new brood (baby bees) in all stages.  The photographs show the youngsters busy moving the colony over to their new home.
