Bee swarm installed at the Woodstone Wildlife area.
18 June 2013

Three of our beekeepers collected a wild swarm just arrived 40 foot up in an Ash tree by the stream.  It was overhanging the footpath and just looking for a home.  We gave it one.  It has been installed in a hive on the new Woodstone Wildlife Area, donated by Mr. Chris Bacon of Woodstone Caravan Storage.  24 hours on they have settled in and are making good use of their new home.  Bees from the project funded by Cllr. Alan Bell are due to arrive next week and so the apiary (name for the place where Bees are kept) should be buzzing by July.
