SECRETARIES REPORT
Working date Thursday 22nd of January, Malcolm and I planted out some twenty Scotch Pines near the seat at New Lambton.
Working Date re organised for Sat 24th February, again Malcolm and I started the willow spiling, five posts hammered into the Burn and some willow weaved around. Task is yet to be completed possibly on Saturday March 3rd.
Contacted Footpaths officer, about Path no. 5, access and drainage problems, his reply was that he thought that some clearance had been done on the hedges and he would inform me as to when the drainage problem could be tackled.
Kevin Telford (footpaths officer) was still thinking that this path would be improved by the Landscape Architects, but this was not the message received at the last Liaison Group Meeting that Stuart had attended.
Sent off suggestions, to be considered, about improvements to this path, regards board walk along part of field edge. Plus improvements to surface of path, to Senior Rights of way Officer, Victoria Lloyd.
Any receipts for insurance so we can claim back costs?
40 Beech trees have been sold for £20, the secretary requires oil and fuel etc. for the chainsaw work, it was agreed therefore this payment will go towards the expenses.
Contact had been made through Geoff about drainage problems that the group may be able to help with at the Bill Forth Memorial Park. Ken to check it out.
Ladies Club have asked for a speaker if available some evening.
If the group requires any assistance with the Beehives then Ian’s father in law John Hopper would be pleased to help.
Miriam mentioned that there seems to be a historical Ghost involved with the Floaters Mill Pub!
Martin is to mention the Houghton Gate Sign at the next Councillors Surgery
New estate manager for Lambton Estate is Gavan Bramley. (I think)
Paul was at another meeting at Chester-le-Street, so was unable to give a report.

A.O.B.
The corner at the junction with the A183 opposite the Church was in need of a tidy up, this was thought feasible for the Lenghtsman, once the gas pipe work was completed.
