Bees for Biodiversity
06 February 2007
Bees for Biodiversity Two new Honeybee colonies have been ordered for delivery in May. These will be hived in both a traditional National Hive and an innovative Top Bar Hive. The aim is to compare the effect of these identical colonies in the two different hives. We want to see which is better for pollinating the range of wildflowers and trees that are rare in the region. This knowledge we regard as crucial to the success of threatened plants and the preservation of the ecological niches that they create and the other species these support.
