Minutes of Bournmoor Conservation Group Meeting held on Wednesday 29th of November 2006 Present; Ken Clark (Secretary), Ian Linsley (Chairman),Bill & Jean Waistell, Russell Borthwick, Martin Garrett, Stuart Wilkie and Jacqueline McPake. Apology; Sarah Hamilton, Paul Griffin (Treasurer), Malcome White and Miriam Oliver. The secretary apologised for the error in the original date set for the Christmas meal, the date would now be on Tuesday the 12th of December. Fifteen members and friends would be in attendance. The Linesman, who is employed jointly by the Parish Council, had been seen doing path edging in the Village, anyone who knows of any suitable jobs requiring attention are requested to contact the Paul the Parish Clerk. The linesman’s work is of a high standard and is a definite improvement to the Village. Seed, for the winter feeding program, was discussed, especially for the schools requirement. Ian would liaison with Geoff as to what would be required. The Contractor responsible for the newly planted hedge at New Lambton, had been contacted by Russell, he was blaming the poor soil condition in the area, resulting in poor take in growth. Bulbs seem to have been planted by Peter. Footpath no. 5 was discussed, as the possibility of this being upgraded to a multi-user route was now looking very unlikely. The flooded stretch, was still of concern as was the overgrowth, which was to be addressed by the land owners. Stuart gave a report of the Coke works Liaison meeting, the earth movement was to enable housing development to start, the completion of the Country Park was still 2008. The web site of the Group was doing well with contributions from members being posted onto the site.
