The Village Hall

Ayton Stone Laying Ceremony taken 6th November, 1930East and West Ayton Village Hall was built in 1930. In recent years, the Village Hall Committee have worked tirelessly to raise funds via applications for monies and events in the Village to raise the necessary cash to make repairs and renovations.

Stone Laying Trowel and Key for Ayton Village Hall

To date the roof has been replaced and more, but there are still funds needed to continue with those renovations. Below is a list of some of the works still needed - hence this fundraiser which is one of many!

There are still works to be carried out and prices are subject to change of course as, as time goes by, prices rise!

Through constant fundraising (including the 2009 Open Gardens' Event), the Village Hall Committee were able to commission works to the total of £60,000 which included re-wiring, plastering of the ceilings and walls in all the rooms and floor coverings throughout all the rooms, kitchen improvements, etc.

In 2010 there is still a further £40,000 worth of work to be carried out including the installation of a disabled wet room, replacement windows, etc.

The Village Hall Committee have been stalwarts throughout the whole fundraising process and continue to raise funds for the works still to be carried out - those who take part in Ayton Open Gardens are proud to play a small part in their fundraising process.
