Welcome to Ayton Open Gardens

Well yesterday was "typical" Bank Holiday weather, but it did not deter visitors coming to our Villages as they all came prepared with umbrellas!!

We all had a fantastic afternoon with a true community spirit coming through........we also had visitors from far afield as well as stalwart locals, including those who came from outside North Yorkshire!

In total, around £450 was made and the organisers wish to sincerely thank all those who came to see our gardens, bought home-made produce, plants, home-made cards, bric-a-brac and photographic goods; the money will be shared equally between Ayton Village Hall and St John the Baptist Church.

The Wall competition was won by a young man from Billingham, Cleveland so congratulations to him, his prize of a £20 voucher for Walker's Fish Restaurant (East Ayton) will be in his possession in the next couple of days!

So once again, a big thank you to all our visitors, those who opened their gardens (without whom we would not have been able to hold the Event) - those who gave (freely) of their time to host the stalls inside the Village Hall, and all those who worked very hard in the background who made the Event possible......

Hope to see you again in 2012!!
