The Exhibition that started it all! A Sense of Place
28 April 2006
The Exhibition that started it all! A Sense of Place Jennifer S Reid's first solo exhibition 'A Sense of Place' in November 2005 was the beginning of a total change in the artist's life. 'I had been painting for years and putting work into shows here and there, since leaving art college but I had never plucked up the courage to exhibit on my own. I finally forced myself to book the Ashfield village hall and then HAD to get on with it!' The three day exhibition was well attended and resulted in a lot of interest and sales 'I was delighted that people liked my work' The success of this exhibition prompted Jennifer to take the plunge and give up the day job as a conference and events organiser and become a full time artist and craft maker in April 2006. 'It just seamed the right thing to do' she says. 'If I didn't do it now I would have regretted it for ever!' All seems to be progressing well for Jennifer who is working on a number of commissions and exhibiting at local craft fairs in Central Scotland. She is certainly thoroughly enjoying her new career ' I'm so glad I'm finally following my dreams'.
