Hi, this is Anne from China who is currently studying in Manchester. Before I move to Manchester, I have conducted a one-year Master study in a beautiful city of Scotland. I have been teaching Mandarin in Manchester Chinese Centre since September 2013. I enjoy teaching and regard it as an interesting hobby apart from my professional study. I have been awarded a certificate of PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector) in 2014. Before I migrated to UK, I have worked as a qualified Chinese language teacher for more than 5 years. It is a great fun to teach Chinese in the UK as I am fond of using creative methods to teach non-Chinese background students. In my leisure time I like to read some novels, and do sports such as running, playing badminton and kicking shuttlecock. I am also fond of cooking, drawing, singing, and listening to music, etc. And last but not least I am curious about multi-cultures that I like to talk to people from different cultures and share ideas with them.
About Students and Teaching Content 关于学生与教学内容
I can teach a wide range of age’s students from kids to adults. My current students are aged from 4 up to 30s. Most of my students are non-Chinese, learning Mandarin from zero. My teaching content and methods will be adjusted according to the students’ Chinese language level and their learning goals. Generally, I teach surviving Mandarin, AQA, GCSE, A-level, business Chinese and Chinese culture, and advanced Chinese Literature, etc. At the first beginning, I will provide an initial assessment to students, which let us have some basic information about each other, such as your Chinese language level, your motivation to learn, how many time you can spend on it, your goals and your study styles etc. The dominant teaching materials are primarily designed myself, adapted from my long-run teaching experiences. Standard Chinese textbook could also be provided if you are willing to buy it. To assess your progress, I would provide you with a periodical test and get you informed of your continuous achievements.
About My Teaching Methods 我的教学方法
For younger students at beginner level, I would integrate multiple activities such as singing, dancing, drawing, and gaming into classes, which may focus more on listening and speaking skills. At a higher level, I would use more holistic teaching method to help students lay a solid learning foundation for their own long-run self-study.
My Fees 学费
15 pounds/hour for online skype classes
20 pounds/hour for beginners
25 pounds/hour for preparation of exams, such as AQA, GCSE and A-level
30 pounds/hour for advanced Chinese and business Chinese and culture
10-lesson packages can have 10% off; 20-lesson for 20% off; 30-lesson for 30% off
Group classes: negotiable fees (3 persons at least)

My teaching location is near the Manchester University campus. I am happy to travel to your place in the area of Great Manchester if you would like to pay for the transport.
