Bar Amp 4-2 Alty Hale 13 September 2009 A much changed Whites line up saw just 5 players keep their place from the side well beaten in their first league game a week ago. The changes seemed to do the trick as a fired up Alty side dominated the first 20 minutes with Neil Clamp, Stu Warburton and Stevie Boland getting a lot of joy out of running at the Bar Amp defence, assisted by the top draw centre midfield displays of Tom Grady and man of the match Mike Body. After that the game seemed to have changed into a midfield battle before an action packed last 10 minutes saw Amp have a very good penalty shout waved away, followed by another good run from Clamp who swung a cross into the box which was well met by Rob Ellis to head in his first league goal this year. Bar Amp came out with an attacking purpose and it looked like Alty had ridden the storm before they conceeded 2 quick goals, followed quickly by a third from a defensive error. It looked as though Amp would grab the initiative from then on, but Alty went straight down the other end of the pitch, Clamp getting on the end of a through ball to make it 3-2 and set up a tense finale. After that it was all Alty, who could have grabbed 3 or 4 in the space of 10 minutes, Ellis goin through on goal and Boland having a great effect parried by the keeper from outside the area. The impressive Cam Laws danced through the Amp defence but couldn't get a shot away, before terrorising the back line again down the left and supplying a dangerous cross which was well dealt with by the keeper. It looked like only one team could grab the next goal, but as tiredness set in, another defensive lapse let the Amp attack in and they took their chance well to seal a 4-2 victory. Alty Hale: Madeley, Bannister, Manion, Smith, Boyes, Clamp, Warburton, Grady, Body, Boland, Ellis. Subs: Cafferty (Boyes),Laws (Warburton) | ![]() ![]() ![]() |
