An understrength Alty Hale team were well beaten by Longhey in the first league game of the new season.  A bright start by the patched up home side was interrupted 10 minutes in when a harmless looking shot trickled under home keeper McCartney  - an un characteristic mistake from the keeper - sparking a mad ten minute spell where two further defensive calamities led to the away team taking a shock 3-0 lead into the break.  Out of sorts Alty came out determined to get back into the game after the break, but the visitors came out with just as much fight in an attempt to put the match to bed, registering a fourth goal towards the end.
