Altrincham Hale 0- 4 Sale Excel 22/2/09

 

The toss of the coin was the only thing that Alty Hale won in the first 20minutes of this game, the Sale bringing the game to Alty. Sale took an early lead with a wind assisted long range effort that keeper Edd Madeley miss read. The added a second soon after leaving Alty with an uphill battle. Eder managed to get a hold of the midfield and bring Alty into the game and some good ball down the flanks resulted in a chance for Neil Clamp which he squandered narrowly. Just as Alty looked to be controlling things Sale broke and scored off corner that they forced leaving Alty trailing 3-0 at the interval.

Alty exchanged harsh words mainly out of frustration at half time and went out to the 2^nd half looking for an early goal. This never came. Ste white rattled the bar with an impressive effort and Chris ‘burnzy’ Jones worked a chance that the keeper made a smart save from. Alty were restricted to mainly long range efforts with Eder and captain Richard Bannister making the keeper work but the pressure did not tell.

A mix up in defence allowed Sale to capitalise and add a 4^th to finish off the game.

A disappointing result in a game Alty will feel they could have taken something from.
