GOVERNMENT officials informed the voluntary sector this week that in future there will be no separate funding for Volunteer Centres (VC) and the Councils of Voluntary Service network (CVS).

Following the announcement earlier this month of  £11.85m for the CVS
network and £11.5m for VCs the government this week said that this was
the last time that the third sector will be funded in this way.


Discussions on how to redevelop the role of the third sector in Scotland
are expected to begin within weeks, with a new structure rolled out before
funding runs out in 2011.
