A Kent resident has had penalty administration charges added to his account and JB Leitch have been appointed by E&M to recover ground rent charges, even though he has paid Firstport for his ground rent.
Apparently E&M took over collection of ground rents from Firstport recently and have not had the ground rent payment passed to them by Firstport.
That copies of the ground rent cheque and proof the cheque has been cashed is of no interest to either Firstport or E&M, as they continue to add bogus charges and put pressure on an innocent leaseholder to pay money that is not owed.
Firstport and E&M have form on this. Firstport were heavily criticised for hounding a soldier on active service, whilst fully knowing they were in the wrong.
E&M's conduct is so reprehensible they were even subjected to a parliamentary motion (342) condemning them.
Ironically E&M accounts make mention of reduced income due to issues with collection agents not passing ground rent payments on.
Last March Firstport was forced to pay residents of Hillside Court, Ormskirk a sum of 39,377 pounds with a further 3,498 pounds in dispute after they passed the due to the residents service charge accounts to the freeholders instead.
The error was picked up by the residents and not Firstport.
