Leaseholder Association. Is It The Answer?

Dudley Joiner, currently of the Right To Manage Federation has founded a new company called the Leaseholder Association, based at the same address in Tunbridge Wells as the RTMF.

According to Dudley Joiner, the Leaseholder Association" has the potential to restore confidence in Leasehold ownership".

The Leaseholder Association also offers a "Mediation Service". It of course would be non-statutary and non-enforceable . In other words, yet another "sop" to leaseholders. How many more "Mediation Services" can there be?  How many more "Mediation Services" are needed?

We, at About Peverel have seen evidence to show that Mr Joiner has done much over the years that is good, and that many leaseholders are in a better situation thanks to Dudley Joiner and the RTMF. Indeed About Peverel has directed leaseholders to the RTMF and will continue to do so.

However, as Peverel have proved time after time, the whole system of leasehold is a broken model, which has had it's time. Yes, it maybe that some of the worst excesses of freeholders and managing agents can be curtailed, but that is a world of difference from leaseholders having confidence in leasehold.

About Peverel are concerned that circumstances have led to Mr Joiner being involved in many things at the same time, be it the RTMF, Leaseholder Association, Directorship of a RTM company and the involvement in the high profile Elim court action.

We wonder if perhaps at present Mr Joiner is "wearing too many hats" at present?

Mr Joiner is very welcome to reply in full on this site.
