3S stands for STRUCTURAL SIMULATION SOFTWARE and was set up in the early 1990's after I { Douglas M Logan BSc (Civil Engineering) } left the LECTURESHIP in Structural Engineering at the University of Strathclyde (Glasgow)

I had held that position between Jan 1970 and Dec 1989 ...having previously been a Graduate student in the same Group from Oct 1967 ...studying CURVED ( in PLAN  ) BRIDGE DECKS  under Prof Alex Coull ..previously he had been at Southampton and later went to Glasgow University as REGIUS PROFESSOR

I became involved in various ANALYTICAL METHOODS and in mid 1970's set up a Consultancy called     CABA .... COMPUTER AIDED BRIDGE ANALYSIS

3S Group{Alba} is more General and covers General Struct ural Simulation
