MARSHALS
This event has attracted interest from running clubs all over London & the South East, and a fair amount of media attention, as well as raising money for a wide variety of local charities.
Obviously we want the event to go as smoothly as possible, in spite of the huge logistical difficulties involved in staging a primarily off-road event over 33.05 miles! We need to co-ordinate an army of circa 130 marshals; plus sweep marshals, timekeepers, first aiders and volunteers to man water stations; in order to ensure that the third 1066 Relay is an unqualified success!
Because each stage is treated as a separate race, then all stages have designated start times and your marshalling duties shouldn't take more than 30 mins to an hour at most! All volunteers will be individually mentioned in a complimentary race brochure produced thanks to the generosity of one our main sponsors Holland Harper accountants.
So far we have recruited marshals from the 1066 Country Relay Fundraisers; Hastings Lions Club; Battle & District Lions Club; Battle Muffin Club; Battle Bonfire Society; Robertsbridge Bonfire Society; Rye Lions Club; Eastbourne Lions Club; Hailsham Lions; Rye Sea Cadets; 1st Battle Scouts; and Pestalozzi International Village Trust.
Please contact me if you are interested in marshalling. Nick Brown (race organiser); tele 07918 907265
